Woman takes 18 disabled dogs to the beach for their very 1st time

Dogs are among the most pure animals on the planet. The tiniest daily events, such as going for a walk or seeing mom or dad come home from work, are always a source of great joy for our canine companions.

Most dogs would agree that nothing beats exploring outdoors – but for some, it’s more difficult than for others. Disabled canines struggle to negotiate terrain that most dogs can manage instinctively.

Beaches with miles of sand and sea may also be out of the question, which is unfortunate because most dogs like the beach. You know that unfathomable happiness you get at the beach? Dogs, on the other hand, experience it ten times more intensely.

So Salima Kadaoui was adamant that her 18 challenged canines could enjoy the beach just like any other dog.

In Tangiers, Morocco, Salima established SFT Animal Sanctuary. Many of the dogs she rescues have lifelong injuries as a result of being hit by automobiles and abandoned. Thankfully, Salima seldom gives up on her dogs, knowing that they may still enjoy their lives to the fullest if they can adjust to a new way of life.

On July 4, she demonstrated the potential of rehabilitation by taking several of her dogs on a day trip.

Despite only having functional front legs, the dogs raced beside Salima from one end of the beach to the other. Imagine lying down on the beach and hearing a ruckus, only to glance up and find 18 dogs in wheelchairs racing over the sand!

The video is wonderful to watch.

On the beach, there are dogs of various sizes, from a little corgi to a giant german shepherd. It’s amazing how much of a life-saving device the doggie wheelchair has become.

A corgi takes Salima’s shoe and shakes it about in her mouth before returning it to its proper owner.

Another video of the dogs racing along the beach shows one naughty dog putting the wheel of his friend’s wheelchair in his teeth – yet they’re still going full speed!

This certainly appears to be a fun-loving group, and it’s wonderful that Salima has been able to provide these pups with the life they deserve.

One thing is certain: these dogs aren’t down on themselves.

They can teach us humans a few things about life. How many of us, even those of us without disabilities, compare ourselves to others?
