It is unusual for humans to have more than one baby at a time, but cats have multiple babies at once. One female kitty has the ability to produce an average of about 12 kittens each year if not spayed. They are mammals so that means they nurse their young kittens until they are weaned and eating food on their own. For this reason, many people wonder how they can nurse their kittens well while the number of kittens is so big.
But don’t worry because mother cats are incredibly attentive moms. They feed their kittens, groom, and teach them right from wrong and purr whenever they’re near. Mother cat’s instinct begins to guide them on the care of their kittens even before they are born. It will continue to tell them what they need to do to care for their tiny babies and when it’s time to give them independence to explore the wide world.
