It has nothing to do with your age when it comes to having a good time. This dog exemplifies this on a regular basis because, despite her advanced age, she continues to enjoy the same things she did as a puppy.

Tessa is the name of the dog, and she is 20 years old, but that doesn’t stop her from reverting to old habits like protecting her family. Her love for her favorite cuddly doll, a plush banana with which she loves cuddling, is another thing she will not give up. She adores her cuddly doll so much that she refuses to swap it for something and brags about it to anyone.

Since she first saw this cuddly toy about five years ago, they’ve been inseparable. Tessa loves the banana more than anything else in life, according to her mother, Shanna Loren, who bought the monkey after another dog killed her favorite toy. “I saw it in a pet store sale basket and realized it was the same size as the toys she likes,” she says. “She took the banana the moment I handed it to her.”

When they have guests, her mother shows them her toy so that the newcomers can have a few moments of enjoyment as well.

“Before they go, she wants people to say something. And she puts it on the best bed she can find when she leaves,” she said. And, despite her advanced age and some hearing loss, she would continue to kiss her toy banana until she died.

“We ask visitors to let her know that they saw her banana so she can relax. She’s never thought of it as a toy. It’s her prized possession and her life,” the mother continued.

She’s 20 years old on the outside, but on the inside she’s still a puppy.
